They are staging a self-blackmail scene based on the Bolnisi example – they have such weak candidates that no pressure, blackmail, or bribery is needed at all, said Irakli Kadagishvili, a deputy from “Georgian Dream.”
According to him, the opposition essentially has no election campaign.
“They don’t even have candidates, and where they do have a mayoral candidate, imagine how weak that candidate is, so no pressure, blackmail, or bribery is needed at all. Some people realize that their place wasn’t there after all and are trying to avoid it. That’s why their candidate in Bolnisi avoided it too. As for bribery, blackmail, and so on – they really made a big effort for this, including in law enforcement agencies, perhaps bribing one or two ordinary people to create some temporary propaganda. They can’t do it. There is no such situation, so now they are staging a self-blackmail scene based on the Bolnisi example,” Kadagishvili stated.
For reference, the Bolnisi mayoral candidate for “Lelo-Strong Georgia” withdrew his candidacy in favor of the “Georgian Dream” candidate, Zamur Chitanava. The party’s Tbilisi mayoral candidate, Irakli Kupradze, stated that attempts at bribery, severe pressure, and blackmail were carried out against Asef Chiragov.
