**Independent Nominees Withdraw from Media Watchdog Race**
A group of independent nominees has withdrawn from the race to join Serbia’s electronic media watchdog. The decision was made at a news conference.
The six nominees, Sasa Mirkovic, Dubravka Valic Nedeljkovic, Zeljko Hubac, Aleksandra Krstic, Rodoljub Sabic and Dusan Aleksic, were set to become members of the Council of the Regulatory Body For Electronic Media (REM). However, they have now decided not to run.
The REM is supposed to be an independent body. But it has been linked to the ruling coalition in Serbia. The nominees said their decision was unanimous.
