**New Laws for TV and Radio in Georgia**

The Georgian Parliament has approved two bills that will change the rules for TV and radio broadcasters. These changes aim to make sure that media organizations in Georgia follow strict rules.

**No Money from Foreign Powers**

One of these laws says that TV and radio stations cannot get money or help from foreign countries. This includes any kind of financial support, as well as material benefits like equipment or services. The goal is to ensure that these media outlets are independent and do not receive influence from outside powers.

**Rules for Fair Reporting**

The other law gives the Communications Regulatory Commission more power to enforce rules for TV and radio broadcasters. These rules include:

* Being fair and impartial when reporting news
* Ensuring balance in their news coverage
* Not recording interviews or phone conversations without permission, unless it’s not possible to ask first
* Allowing different viewpoints on live call-ins and not just one person’s opinion
* Getting consent from people being recorded in certain places like schools or hospitals

**Consequences for Breaking the Rules**

If a TV or radio station does not follow these rules, they will get a warning and be given time to fix their mistakes. If they still don’t comply, they will face fines.

These laws were proposed by members of the Georgian Dream faction and the People’s Power political group.
