She was released upon payment of a 10,000 GEL bail.
As Darakhvelidze told journalists after her release from the detention facility, she expected to be imprisoned.
“My friends and the support of the people outside strengthened me. I knew they were thinking of me and worried about me. I know exactly that this comforts political prisoners, knowing that we stand and fight for them outside. I expected to be imprisoned and to go to prison for a long time,” Darakhvelidze stated.
For reference, in connection with the events that unfolded in Tbilisi on October 4, the court imposed a 10,000 GEL bail as a preventive measure for the accused Ia Darakhvelidze today, while three other accused individuals were ordered to remain in pretrial detention.
The investigation regarding individuals involved in the events at the Atoneli Palace is being conducted under Articles 317, 222, 225, and 187 of the Criminal Code. Within the scope of this investigation, a total of 46 individuals have been detained.
