**Israeli Attacks on Gaza**
The Israeli military has attacked the Gaza Strip. At least 55 Palestinians were killed in these attacks.
This happened after Israel stopped talking to Hamas, a group that controls Gaza. Israel wanted to extend a ceasefire agreement but couldn’t agree on it.
**Many People Hurt**
Over two days, more than 430 Palestinians were hurt by Israeli air strikes. The Hamas health ministry said this number is likely higher.
**Israeli Military Action**
Israel sent its military into the Gaza Strip. They deployed forces up to the middle of a strip of land called the Netzarim Corridor. This corridor divides northern and southern Gaza.
**Ceasefire Failed**
A ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas ended on March 1st. The two sides couldn’t agree on how to extend it.
**Previous Violence**
Hamas attacked Israel in October, killing over 1,200 people. In response, Israel sent its military into Gaza, killing more than 48,500 Palestinians and causing huge destruction.
