**GSP Workers Stage Protest in Central Belgrade**

Workers from the Belgrade City Public Transport Company (GSP) and students who came to support them held a protest march on Thursday. They started at the GSP depot in Dorcol neighborhood and walked to Republic Square, where they gathered for a rally.

The protesters are demanding that the city authorities fulfill four requests. However, the city has not responded to these demands for 14 days. This was the second warning protest by GSP workers.

During their march, protesters displayed a large banner that read, “Trolleybuses are not a problem, they are the heroes of the city.” Students from technical faculties joined them and carried a message that read, “Next stop, strike.”

After addressing the crowd at Republic Square, the protesters dispersed. Ivan Bankovic from the GSP union explained to N1 why the workers were protesting.

“The city administration had 14 days to respond to our four justified demands,” he said. “Unfortunately, they chose to ignore these demands, which is why we decided to mark the day by blocking the central city square.”

The protesters’ four demands include:

* Suspending all activities related to the elimination of the trolleybus subsystem
* Guaranteeing that the trolleybus depot in Dorcol will remain under GSP control
* Immediately calling for tenders to purchase 100 new modern trolleybuses
* Reviewing the legitimacy and justification of existing contracts that have lost city routes to private carriers

Bankovic emphasized that the demands can be met. When asked if the workers may resort to a strike if this does not happen, he replied: “Absolutely. The decision lies solely with the workers, and all options are on the table.”
