**U.S. Embassy’s Statement: A Sign of Concern Over Georgian National Security**

The U.S. Embassy in Georgia has issued a statement regarding possible explosion threats in major shopping centers in Tbilisi, sparking concerns over the country’s national security system. According to Grigol Gegelia, a leader of the coalition “Lelo – Strong Georgia,” the embassy’s statement was made based on solid and verified intelligence information.

Gegelia believes that the U.S. Embassy would not have issued such a statement without having concrete evidence of potential threats. He suggests that the embassy may have been disappointed with the response from Georgia’s security service, leading them to take action themselves. This, he says, is a clear indication that the national security system in Georgia is “disintegrating.”

**The “MEGOBARI Act” and Sanctions: A Blow to Ivanishvili**

Gegelia also spoke about the “MEGOBARI Act,” which aims to protect Georgian democracy from what he calls a “tyrannical Russian-Chinese regime.” He sees this as an important example of cooperation between both chambers of parliament to safeguard national security and democracy. The sanctions list, he notes, is ambitious and targets not only politicians and businesses but also the entire regime.

In his view, Ivanishvili will inevitably face severe political and financial consequences. Gegelia believes that the sanctions process will be launched by the end of May and sent to the President for signing. He warns Ivanishvili that sanctions are guaranteed and that he should take responsibility by calling for new parliamentary elections.

**Kobakhidze’s Rise: A Threat to Ivanishvili?**

Gegelia also commented on the election of Irakli Kobakhidze as the chairman of “Georgian Dream.” He sees this as a sign of monopolized power and institutional control in the hands of one person. Gegelia believes that if he were in Ivanishvili’s place, he would be seriously afraid of Kobakhidze, whom he raised himself. This is because Kobakhidze is strengthening his position around himself and executing Russia’s political will.
