Gocha Gugunava, one of the leaders of the Adjara organization of the “Gakharia for Georgia” party, has been nominated as the mayoral candidate for Batumi. The candidate was announced at a joint event of “Strong Georgia” and “Gakharia for Georgia.”
According to the party’s information, Gocha Gugunava has been a member of the “Gakharia for Georgia” party since 2024 and is one of the leaders of the party’s Adjara organization.
“Gocha Gugunava was born in 1976 in the city of Batumi. In 1999, he graduated from Batumi Shota Rustaveli University, Faculty of Law. From 1996 to 2000, he served as the financial director of ‘Aghordzineba’ LLC. In 2014, he founded the charitable foundation ‘Batumi.’ In 2014, he was a mayoral candidate for Batumi from the political union ‘Salome Zurabishvili – Georgia’s Way.’ He is married and has three children,” stated the information released by “Gakharia for Georgia.”
