Georgian MP Speaks Out Against Swedish Government Statement
Giorgi Sosiashvili, a member of the ruling party Georgian Dream and a majority MP in Georgia’s parliament, has responded to a statement made by the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Sosiashvili believes that the Swedish government’s statement was not genuine. He thinks it was dictated by a “Deep State” – a term used to describe powerful forces behind the scenes that control governments from afar.
According to Sosiashvili, the public does not take statements like this seriously. They see them as just another attempt to cause trouble and create unrest in Georgia. However, he says that despite pressure from these forces, the government has been able to maintain stability and keep the country peaceful.
The Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs had expressed support for protesters in Georgia, who have been demonstrating for 100 days. The ministry also called on the Georgian authorities to take immediate action to resolve the crisis.
