Giorgi Sharashidze, one of the leaders of “Gakharia for Georgia,” states that the kindergarten in the village of Guriani, whose construction was supposed to be completed last year, remains unfinished to this day.
As he writes on social media, the kindergarten construction is a project of the company “Lagi Capital,” which, according to available information, belongs to the family of “Georgian Dream” MP Irakli Zarkua, and whose executives were detained yesterday on charges of fraudulently appropriating over 9 million GEL belonging to the state and legalizing illegal income.
Speaking about the kindergarten construction, Sharashidze reposts a video disseminated by the party members last year and states that party members were already discussing this issue last year.
“This video was recorded exactly one year ago, during the parliamentary election campaign in Ozurgeti. This is precisely the unfulfilled project of ‘Lagi Capital,’ the company of a member of Irakli Zarkua’s family, which received over a million GEL in advance, squandered the money, and the kindergarten in Guriani village still does not exist! Why didn’t ‘Georgian Dream’ react last year? How was over a million GEL allocated for the kindergarten rehabilitation transferred in full as an advance? Was it possible to cover up such illegality without the protection of the patron, Irakli Zarkua? And most importantly, what does it mean to sell the company after embezzling and squandering millions from the state? This fact confirms that full responsibility for this crime lies with ‘Lagi Capital’ and its original founder, a member of Irakli Zarkua’s family!” Giorgi Sharashidze writes on social media.
As a reminder, the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia detained the executives of the school and kindergarten construction company Lagi Capital in the regions of Georgia on charges of fraudulently appropriating over 9 million GEL belonging to the state and legalizing illegal income. Later, information was disseminated by one media outlet that “Georgian Dream” MP Irakli Zarkua’s nephew, Aleksandre Amisulashvili, owned Lagi Capital years ago.
Giorgi Sharashidze: What does it mean to sell a company after embezzling millions from the state? The responsibility for the crime falls on ‘Lagi Capital’ and its original founder, a member of Irakli Zarkua’s family!
