**Coalition for Change Member Warns of Possible Arrest or Kidnapping of Nika Gvaramia**
The Coalition for Change, a Georgian political party, is bracing itself for the worst. Giorgi Butikashvili, a member of the coalition, spoke to PalitraNews about the possible arrest or kidnapping of their leader, Nika Gvaramia.
Butikashvili warned that Gvaramia could be arrested in court like Zurab Japaridze, a Georgian politician who was detained by police during a trial. Alternatively, he could be kidnapped like Nino Burjanadze’s party colleague, Giorgi Melia, who was taken away by police without any charges being made against him.
“This is the modus operandi of Ivanishvili’s Russian regime,” Butikashvili said. “They are turning activists, journalists, and now politicians into political prisoners. This is their policy, identical to the one in Russia.”
**The Coalition Will Not Be Silenced**
Despite the potential dangers, the Coalition for Change has vowed to continue its fight against what it sees as an authoritarian government.
“We will not stop fighting,” Butikashvili said. “We have started this fight, and we will see it through to the end. The party will not be silenced.”
**The Case Against Nika Gvaramia**
Nika Gvaramia, the leader of the Coalition for Change, was summoned by the Temporary Investigative Commission of the Parliament of Georgia but did not appear. He has since been charged under Article 349 of the Criminal Code for refusing to comply with the commission’s request.
Gvaramia has been granted bail of 30,000 GEL as a preventive measure, which expired on June 7. However, he has refused to pay the bail and is now facing arrest or other consequences.
