According to Giorgi Baramidze, the political secretary of the United National Movement, Mikheil Kavelashvili’s open letter, addressed to US President Donald Trump, is “very shameful and regrettable.” As Baramidze noted at today’s briefing, Mikheil Kavelashvili’s mention of the “deep state” in the letter is “yet another example and proof of how incompetent and false this regime is.”
“I would like to respond to a very shameful, very sad story for Georgia, which we have all seen, the letter of the so-called President Kavelashvili to President Trump. This once again shows how incompetent, weak, devoid of reality and disconnected this Russian regime of traitors and criminals is, which in a very vulgar manner, with no knowledge of diplomatic etiquette and language at all, addresses the president of the world’s leading state and begs to pay attention to us. I would like to tell this uneducated, incompetent and traitorous power what they do not know – they pay positive attention to those states in which the country’s beneficial process is underway and which have value for the world’s civilized states. They pay negative attention to Hamas and Iran, which this traitorous regime is getting closer to. The mention of the “deep state” in this letter is another example and proof of how incompetent and false this regime is. They are telling President Trump that America is ruled by the “deep state” and that the US policy towards Georgia is being conducted under its dictates. It is a truly shameful letter and very sad. Everyone in the entire world, in the civilized world, knows very well what level the regime is in our country, that they really could not go beyond Kadyrov’s education. We also understand very well that the goal of this letter is not to improve Georgia-US relations, but to continue false propaganda,” Baramidze said.
According to him, Georgian Dream does not care about the Georgian people or the country’s national interests.
“This government is doing everything to separate Georgia from its real friends. Those friends who are based on the policy of non-recognition of the temporarily occupied regions of Georgia by Russia. They are not interested in the fate of Georgia or the future of the country at all, this is evident in everything. During their 13 years of rule, Georgia has practically been emptied, more than a million people have fled our country from poverty, and this sad process continues,” Baramidze said.
For information, Mikheil Kavelashvili addressed US President Donald Trump in an open letter, noting that the US administration is not showing due attention to Georgia, which, given the complete value alignment between the governments, is surprising to Georgian society. According to Kavelashvili, he is personally ready to contribute to the realization of the stated goal of the Georgian government to restore the strategic partnership between Georgia and the United States from a clean slate and with a concrete roadmap.
