Society should be aware that “pranksters,” or individuals making disruptive phone calls, contacted well-known figures, including the former head of USAID, and obtained an admission that billions of dollars, as discussed by the new U.S. administration, were spent to manage processes. These processes were politically motivated, aimed at specific objectives, and intended to produce significant outcomes, stated Gia Volski, First Deputy Speaker of the Georgian Parliament.
According to Volski, tens of millions of dollars were spent by the non-governmental sector in Georgia to carry out destabilization, and he hopes that the new U.S. administration will pay attention to this issue.
“As we see what is happening in Ukraine and Moldova, this topic has been discussed, but we should not exclude the issue of Georgia from this. Naturally, we hope that the new U.S. administration will also pay attention to the issue of Georgia, as we know from them that tens of millions of dollars were spent in Georgia during the pre-election period and after the elections to organize this destabilization process. These funds were used by specific non-governmental organizations, including to purchase equipment and spend money to ensure that the destabilization process would be irreversible. This issue is currently being investigated by the Georgian Prosecutor’s Office,” Volski stated.
