Georgia’s damage and bringing the “United National Movement” to power is [Joe Wilson’s] goal – the very UNM that recently verbally attacked Republican leader Donald Trump, – this is how the First Vice-Speaker of Parliament, Gia Volski, reacted to Republican Congressman Joe Wilson’s proposal to include an amendment in the U.S. State Department Authorization Act regarding the “non-recognition of the Georgian Nightmare.”
According to Volski, any new resolution, proposal, or opinion suggesting that the Georgian government should not be recognized is aimed at one main objective: to install a puppet government in Georgia that would drag the country toward war.
“Joe Wilson has one thought and one goal: to help the UNM come to power. This has been ongoing for a long time, despite the fact that all UNM leaders – Saakashvili, Gvaramia, and others – verbally attacked Trump and denounced him. Nevertheless, collaboration with Joe Wilson has not stopped and has even resumed under the new circumstances. Damaging Georgia and bringing the UNM to power is the goal – the very UNM that recently verbally attacked Republican leader Donald Trump. The same process is happening in Brussels, where people are trying to generate more criticism to mobilize more people [to protests] and somehow provoke bloodshed. Any new resolution, proposal, or opinion suggesting that Georgia’s government should not be recognized is aimed at one main goal: a puppet government must come to power in Georgia, which would drag the country toward war,” Volski said.
On the same topic, Volski emphasized that “it is out of the question; such an unfair document will not be accepted.”
“Even if something is approved and recognized in some group, it will not be implemented, because the global situation changes. This situation is currently tailored to what the UNM is ‘scheming’ – prolonging the war – while we are focused on developing peace processes, where, of course, Georgia can breathe freely with its limited resources,” Volski stated.
For context, Republican Congressman Joe Wilson proposed an amendment to the U.S. State Department Authorization Act regarding the “non-recognition of the Georgian Nightmare.” The text of the amendment states that no U.S. official should take any action recognizing the government of the Georgian Dream party.
Additionally, Washington correspondent for the Kyiv Post, Alex Raufoghlu, wrote on social media that the House Foreign Affairs Committee approved language within the Authorization Act that would deem the anti-American “Russian Dream” regime in Georgia as illegally recognized. The amendment must be approved by both the House of Representatives and the Senate before being adopted.
