In the second quarter of 2025, the average monthly nominal wage in Georgia increased by 10.3% (207.1 GEL) compared to the same period last year, reaching 2,212.0 GEL.
This information is released by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
According to their data, relatively high wages were recorded in the following sectors by type of activity:
· Information and communication – 4,176.5 GEL (increased by 5.4% compared to the same period last year);
· Financial and insurance activities – 3,732.2 GEL (increased by 2.5%);
· Construction – 3,467.7 GEL (increased by 17.7%);
· Professional, scientific, and technical activities – 2,995.3 GEL (increased by 4.3%).
According to Geostat data, in the second quarter of 2025, the average wage for women was 1,769.5 GEL, while for men it was 2,655.8 GEL. The annual wage growth for women was 179.3 GEL (11.3%), and for men – 242.3 GEL (10.0%).
By type of activity, men’s wages exceeded women’s wages in almost all sectors.
According to the National Statistics Office, in the second quarter of 2025, the average monthly wage for employees in the business sector increased by 212.2 GEL (10.1%) and amounted to 2,317.6 GEL. By type of activity, the highest wages were recorded in information and communication (4,243.4 GEL, increased by 4.3% compared to the same period last year) and construction (3,472.6 GEL, increased by 17.7%).
According to their data, in the second quarter of 2025, the average monthly wage in the non-entrepreneurial and financial sector increased by 197.1 GEL (10.8%) compared to the same period last year and amounted to 2,024.0 GEL. By type of activity, relatively high average wages are held by those employed in financial and insurance activities.
By size of average wage, Tbilisi and Mtskheta-Mtianeti lead among the regions.
