According to the National Statistics Service of Georgia, in the second quarter of 2025, Georgia’s airports served 2.1 million passengers, a 17.7% increase compared to the same period in the previous year.
As stated in the information released by “Sakstat,” airports received 1.1 million passengers (17.4% more) and saw 1.0 million passengers depart (18.1% more).
“In the second quarter of 2025, 95.1% of the passenger flow at Georgia’s airports was attributed to regular flights. During this period, the number of passenger flights operated from Georgia’s airports reached 8.6 thousand, a 12.8% increase compared to the same period last year. In the second quarter of 2025, the volume of cargo and mail processed at Georgia’s airports amounted to 9.0 thousand tons, of which 92.2% was incoming cargo and mail, and 7.8% was outgoing. During the same period, 0.9 thousand cargo flights were operated at Georgia’s airports, an 86.9% increase compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. In the second quarter of 2025, Georgia’s air transport carried 172.6 thousand passengers and transported 38.2 thousand tons of cargo. The number of passengers transported during this period is 1.5% higher than the corresponding period of the previous year, while the volume of cargo transported is 18.6% lower than the same period last year,” the information states.
