**Georgia’s Economy Grows Fast**

The economy of Georgia grew very quickly in January 2025. The country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) went up by about 11% compared to the same time last year.

This is according to estimates from the National Statistics Office of Georgia, known as Geostat. They released this information on February 28.

**Which Sectors Grew?**

Several sectors helped drive the growth in GDP. These include:

* Professional and scientific services
* Transportation and storage
* Building construction
* Information technology and communication
* Manufacturing and trade

However, one sector experienced a decline: mining and quarrying.

**Trade and Inflation**

In other news, Georgia’s foreign trade (exports and imports) grew by 39.3% in January 2025. The country’s annual inflation rate was 2% in the same month.

For all of last year, 2024, Georgia’s foreign trade went up by about 8%.
