**Russia’s Grim Toll in Ukraine: 1.017 Million Troops Lost Since February 2022**
In a devastating report, the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces has revealed that Russia has lost approximately 1,017,720 troops in Ukraine since the beginning of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022. The staggering number includes over 1,000 casualties suffered by Russian forces just over the past day.
The loss is not limited to human lives; Russia’s military equipment and infrastructure have also suffered severely. According to the report, Russia has lost 10,970 tanks, 22,908 armored fighting vehicles, 53,415 vehicles and fuel tanks, 29,665 artillery systems, 1,425 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,189 air defense systems, 420 airplanes, 337 helicopters, 42,477 drones, 28 ships and boats, and one submarine.
**Drone Attacks Cause Chaos in Ukraine**
In a separate incident, Russian drones struck a 21-story building in Ukraine, causing a fire on the 7th, 8th, and 9th floors. The attack left residents trapped in their apartments, resulting in the deaths of a couple and injuries to four others, including young children.
**US Public Opinion Shifts Towards Sanctions**
A recent YouGov survey conducted between June 12-16 found that 24% of U.S. adults strongly support sanctioning Russian energy buyers, while 25% somewhat support secondary sanctions against these countries.
**Ukraine’s Military Efforts Gain Momentum**
President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the government and Ukrainian businesses now provide over 40% of the weapons used to defend the nation’s independence against Russia’s full-scale invasion. The president also signed a decree imposing sanctions on 52 Russian citizens, as well as an additional 34 Russian companies and one Chinese entity involved in the production of Shahed-type drones and chip manufacturing machinery.
**NATO’s Defense Spending Plans Met with Rejection**
Russian President Vladimir Putin responded to NATO members’ plans to increase defense spending to 5% of GDP by claiming that Moscow plans to cut its military expenditure beginning next year. Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States would consider bombing Iran again if the country’s nuclear program once again became a concern.
**Russia Ready for Peace Talks**
Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his willingness to hold a third round of peace talks on the war in Ukraine, without specifying whether he would directly participate in the negotiations.
**Ukrainian Manufacturers Boost Drone Production**
In an effort to bolster their military capabilities, Ukrainian manufacturers plan to supply four million drones to the front line this year. The Ukrainian army has already received up to 1.5 million drones as of the end of June, according to Umerov.
