**Russia’s Losses in Ukraine**
Russia has lost a huge number of troops and equipment since it invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022. According to the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, Russia has lost over 828,000 troops.
This is not the first big loss for Russia in Ukraine. Just in the past day, Russian forces suffered more than 1,600 casualties. This number includes soldiers who were killed or injured.
**Equipment Lost**
Russia has also lost a huge amount of equipment in Ukraine. The General Staff reported that Russia has lost:
* Over 9,800 tanks
* More than 20,000 armored vehicles
* Almost 35,000 other vehicles and fuel tanks
* Over 22,000 artillery systems
* More than 1,200 rocket launchers
* Over 1,000 air defense systems
* Almost 370 airplanes
* Over 330 helicopters
* Nearly 23,000 drones
* 28 ships and boats
* One submarine
