I have a firm position – either victory or death! I am ready for absolutely everything! 100%! – I believe that I must sacrifice my life so that this regime is changed in the near future! – Gedevan Popkhadze, a representative of the political union Coalition for Changes, said on PalitraNews.
As Popkhadze explained, there is nothing special about October 4 itself, but according to him, there will be many people, protests and “another test for the regime, which it will either pass or fail”.
“During the 1924 uprising, one might have thought that there was no chance of defeating the Bolshevik occupation, but the moral obligation of all Georgians was to participate in the uprising. Of course, the majority of Georgians did not participate in the 1924 uprising. Only the best participated in the uprising, and these people are all heroes – Kaikhosro Cholokashvili, Kote Abkhazi – without exception, everyone who participated in this uprising. These are people who paid their debt to the end for the country and freedom. They took maximum risks and sacrificed their lives.
I do not know what day this could happen and how correct it is to announce a decisive day. This is the right form of struggle for those people who say: call us on Rustaveli if you are going to do something.
I believe that we should all do what we can – to make the maximum sacrifice! I mean myself here and no one should think that I am talking about sacrifices of other people! I have a firm position for myself – either victory or death! I am ready for everything absolutely, 100%! I believe that I must sacrifice my life so that this regime can be changed in the near future. If this sacrifice does not bring results at this stage, it will not be an indicator of anything for me. I am ready, together with my like-minded people and those people who are ready to go to any lengths, to do everything to end the regime. I do not associate anything special with October 4, but there will be a lot of people, there will be protests and another test for the regime, which it will either pass or fail”, he said.
Popkhadze calls the decision of Lelo-Strong Georgia regarding participation in the local self-government elections “illogical” and “incoherent” and believes that the party leaders Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze made a deal with Georgian Dream in exchange for freedom.
When asked what he had to say about Khazaradze and Japaridze, who joined the election campaign after being released from prison, Popkhadze said that he had nothing at all, because these people were not interesting to him.
According to Popkhadze, no elections are being held on October 4 and the process, which was declared an election, is clearly a farce.
“I did not expect anything positive from these people and do not expect it now. I have a sharply negative attitude. Therefore, I am not going to talk about them at all.
There are no elections – they are a farce. Whoever participates in this process, whoever they are, is a co-participant in the political agenda of the Dream. Entering the polling station on election day is a fundamentally wrong decision”, he said.
