**Serbian Oil Industry Ownership Changed**

The Belgrade Stock Exchange has announced a change in ownership for the Serbian Oil Industry (NIS). According to Beta news agency, Gazprom Neft has transferred 5% of NIS shares to Gazprom.

Gazprom Neft’s share in NIS has decreased from 50% to 44.85%, while Gazprom’s share has increased from 6.15% to 11.30%. The state of Serbia still owns a significant stake, with 29.87%.

**US Sanctions Avoided**

The change in ownership was part of efforts to avoid US sanctions on NIS. The sanctions were imposed to prevent Russia from using energy revenues to fund the war in Ukraine.

Stock market expert Nenad Gujanicic said that Gazprom Neft transferred its shares to Gazprom without payment. He believes this move helped Gazprom Neft avoid greater problems due to EU sanctions.

The US sanctions are set to take effect on Thursday.
