**Students Demand Snap Elections: A Logical Step, Says Former University Rector**
A former chief of Belgrade University has spoken out in support of the students’ demand for snap elections. Professor Ivanka Popovic, a prominent figure in Serbia’s academic and political circles, believes that the students are taking a logical step by demanding new polls.
Popovic, who served as rector before Vladan Djordjevic, made her comments to N1, a local news outlet. “The students are saying that they want to create a united front,” she said. “This is an important step towards creating a more inclusive and participatory society.”
