**US Court Indictment: Georgian National Accused of Soliciting Hate Crimes**
A 21-year-old Georgian national, Michail Chkhikvishvili, has been extradited to the United States from Moldova to face federal charges in Brooklyn. The indictment comes after Chkhikvishvili was arrested in Chișinău in July 2024.
**Alleged Crimes**
Chkhikvishvili is accused of soliciting others to carry out violent attacks targeting Jewish communities and racial minorities. He allegedly provided instructions for such acts, including a planned scheme to distribute poisoned candy to children on New Year’s Eve. The U.S. Department of Justice press release states that Chkhikvishvili is the leader of the white supremacist Maniac Murder Cult, an international group known for its violent extremist ideology.
**Global Impact**
According to the indictment, Chkhikvishvili’s solicitations of violence have resulted in multiple attacks and killings around the world. He allegedly wanted the planned attack to be a “bigger action than Breivik,” referring to Anders Behring Breivik, a Norwegian neo-Nazi who killed 77 people in a bombing and mass shooting in Norway in 2011.
**Extradition**
Chkhikvishvili was extradited from Moldova on May 22. He now faces a four-count indictment, including charges related to soliciting hate crimes and planning a mass casualty attack.
