**Vigils Held Across East to Mark Ukraine Invasion Anniversary**
People have been gathering across the east of England to show support for Ukraine and remember the victims of the Russian invasion.
Sunday’s events included church services, vigils, and gatherings in Norfolk, Suffolk, Buckinghamshire, and other areas. These events brought together Ukrainian refugees and their host families.
**Remembering the Victims**
Nataliya Lawson, a Ukrainian woman living in the UK, said it was “very painful” to think about all the people who have lost their lives in Ukraine. She attended a church service in Norfolk where they honored Ukraine’s resistance and thanked those who have given refugees shelter.
**Solidarity with Ukraine**
In Ipswich, people gathered in the town center to show solidarity with Ukraine. They then walked to Ipswich Minster for a service, which included prayers spoken in Ukrainian. Alan Cutting from the Christian organization Together for Ipswich said it was an opportunity for the Ukrainian community to come together and pray for peace.
**Supporting Refugees**
Many people at these gatherings were either from Ukraine or had hosted refugees. On the steps of City Hall in Norwich, there was another gathering to mark the anniversary of the invasion. People came together to show their support for Ukraine and its people.
