**Record Trade Volume Between EU and Ukraine**

Ukraine’s trade with the European Union has reached a record high. The country’s largest trading partner, the EU, accounted for nearly 65% of its total agri-food exports in 2023.

**Top Trading Partners**

The top eight countries that traded with Ukraine were Spain, Poland, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Romania, France, and Belgium. Together, they made up about 80% of Ukraine’s agrifood trade turnover in 2024.

**Imports and Exports**

Last year, Ukraine imported around $4 billion worth of agricultural products from EU member states. This is almost 9% more than in 2023. Despite the challenges posed by the Russian-Ukrainian war, Ukrainian agricultural exports to the EU exceeded imports by a significant $9 billion.

According to expert Oleg Nivievskyi, rising prices likely led to an increase in exports. The current year’s harvest was not significantly higher than the previous year. He also noted that the EU’s export corridor with Ukraine is functioning better this year.

The report on agri-food trade between Ukraine and the EU shows that Ukraine exports mainly cereals, vegetable and animal oils, and ferrous metals to the EU. Agri-food products have remained at almost pre-war levels, significantly supporting the Ukrainian economy.
