**EU Backs Journalist on Hunger Strike**
A diplomat from Estonia has spoken out in support of a Georgian journalist. Mzia Amaglobeli is facing 7 years in prison. She has been on hunger strike for 17 days.
The Estonian Ambassador to Georgia, Marge Mardisalu-Kahar, wrote on her social media page that the EU supports Amaglobeli and her news outlet, Netgazeti. The ambassador called for Amaglobeli’s immediate release from prison.
**Free Media in Danger**
This is not the first time that a journalist has faced trouble in Georgia. Marge Mardisalu-Kahar said it is “dark days” for free media in the country. Many people are worried about the state of press freedom in Georgia.
