**European Parliament Talks About Serbia’s Situation**
Members of the European Parliament (MEP) met on Tuesday to discuss what is happening in Serbia. They talked about a big issue that happened last November when a concrete canopy at a train station in Novi Sad collapsed, killing 15 people and causing many protests.
**Protests Against Corruption**
The MEPs said they support the people who are protesting against corruption in Serbia. They want an investigation into all incidents involving students and citizens who are peacefully protesting.

Kos emphasized that the European Commission has expressed concerns about incidents against demonstrators and expects a full investigation into these attacks. She also mentioned that spreading disinformation and hostile rhetoric have no place on the path to EU integration.
**Supporting Serbia’s European Path**
The Commissioner said that supporting Serbia in becoming part of the European Union remains a priority for the European Commission. However, she stressed that this requires reforms that enshrine European values not only in legislation but also in practice.
Kos mentioned that these reforms will strengthen the fight against corruption, ensure the independence of the judiciary, and promote media freedom and pluralism. If properly implemented, these reforms will have a transformative power that will benefit all citizens of Serbia and bring their country to the European Union.
**European Parliament’s Support**
Tonino Picula, the European Parliament’s rapporteur for Serbia, expressed his support for the young people in Serbia who are demonstrating. He emphasized that this is a political crisis that requires a political solution.
Other MEPs, such as Irena Joveva and Matej Tonin, also showed their support for the students in Serbia, who they said are fighting against corruption and seeking a different future for their country.
