**Russian Attack Targets Ukraine’s Gas Infrastructure**

On February 20, Russian forces launched a mass drone and missile attack on Ukraine’s gas infrastructure. Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko reported that the attack targeted Ukraine’s gas production facilities.

**Repeated Attacks on Ukrainian Energy**

This is not the first time Russia has attacked Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Over the course of the war, Russia has repeatedly targeted Ukraine’s gas storage facilities in the west. The latest attack was carried out using 161 Shahed-type drones and decoy drones, as well as 14 Kh-101/55SM cruise missiles.

**Ukrainian Air Defenses Respond**

Ukrainian air defenses shot down 80 drones over 11 oblasts. However, 78 drones were lost without causing damage. The attack also damaged gas production facilities, according to Halushchenko. Explosions were reported in Kyiv, Odesa, and the adjacent regions.

**DTEK Energy Facility Targeted**

Russian aerial strikes targeted an energy facility belonging to Ukraine’s DTEK company in Odesa Oblast. A total of 49,000 consumers remained without power as of 9 a.m. local time. Restoration works are ongoing.
