Reuters reports that French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, as well as Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, issued a statement in which they expressed their concern about the current political situation of Georgia.
According to the publication Macron, Scholz, and Tusk released a statement in a so-called Weimar Triangle as members. They said they could not support Georgia’s entry into negotiations with the European Union without reforms.
The statement stated that “if Georgia does not change the current course and does show tangible reforms, notably by repealing recent laws that are against European values and principle, we cannot support opening accession talks with Georgia.”
