Paying bail and getting out that way is not being released; it’s paying a tribute to open the prison door – someone paying my bail would be like stabbing me in the heart, I won’t allow anyone to do that, said Elene Khoshtaria, one of the leaders of the “Coalition for Change,” in a statement issued from the Zahesi isolator.
As stated in the circulated letter, she does not intend to pay the bail.
“Fighting alongside you outside today, I fully understand how important it is, so let no one think that being in prison is my choice. My choice is to never do anything in this fight that I couldn’t explain to my conscience or to you.
Paying bail and getting out that way is not being released; it’s paying a tribute to open the prison door, which, of course, I will not pay. Not because it would hurt my pride, but because I could not call you to any fight or be part of one by participating in lies and farce. My imprisonment is illegal, just like that of countless free people. But imprisonment does not stop the fight, I promise you that. We will win honorably! Until the end!
P.S.: Someone paying my bail would be like stabbing me in the heart, I won’t allow anyone to do that,” reads the statement issued by Elene Khoshtaria from the isolator.
