**Djindjic Assassination Anniversary Marked**
Outgoing Prime Minister Milos Vucevic and his cabinet visited the Serbian government headquarters. This is where former Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic was assassinated in 2023.
Zoran Djindjic was shot by a sniper as he stepped out of a car. He was killed because some high-ranking officers thought he would give them up to answer for war crimes committed in the 1990s. A special police operation called Saber was launched after his death.
Some politicians who are part of the current ruling party were against Djindjic and his policies before he died. The leaders of those who assassinated him, Milorad Ulemek Legija and Zvezdan Jovanovic, were sentenced to 40 years in jail.
