**Police Leave NGO Office After 28 Hours**
The Center for Research, Transparency and Accountability (CRTA) said the police left their office after 28 hours. The police took away copies of over 8,500 pages of project documentation.
The CRTA has a lot of documents about its projects. These include reports on what was done, where money came from, and how it was spent. In a post on social media, the CRTA said: “We document everything in detail and according to the law.”
**Why Did the Police Take the Documents?**
The police were ordered by the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office to take documents from four NGOs (non-governmental organizations) in Serbia. The prosecutor’s office wanted information about donations from a US government agency, how these funds were spent, and if there was an obligation to tell donors what they were used for.
**Which NGOs Were Affected?**
The police started collecting information from the CRTA, Civic Initiatives, Policy Center, and Trag Foundation.
