According to Elene Khoshtaria, one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, yesterday’s clash on Melikishvili Avenue, near Kakha Kaladze’s headquarters, “was organized violence carried out by bandits calling themselves a government.”
As Elene Khoshtaria stated at a briefing, the Coalition for Change will join the rally announced for today at 19:00 near the Philharmonic.
“On behalf of our team, the Coalition for Change, we want to respond to yesterday’s appalling and horrible incident that took place on Melikishvili Avenue. We witnessed organized violence by bandits calling themselves a government, with the participation of disguised policemen, criminals, and members of the Russian Dream party. This was inhuman behavior against their own citizens. What we saw yesterday was inhuman, un-Georgian, insulting to our entire state, our Georgian identity, and to Georgia itself. Unfortunately, this is not surprising coming from Russian Dream, because this is exactly what we fight against when we oppose Russian Dream.
What matters is that they know that not a single such outburst against peaceful, unarmed young or other citizens will go unanswered. We will not give up even a single hair of any of our citizens. No one will get away with hiding behind a so-called police cordon and treating their own citizens this way. No one’s political stance matters. As Kaladze spoke disgustingly today, claiming who is or isn’t a woman – this is not Georgia, and Georgia will never be like that.
Today at 19:00, activists have announced a rally near the Philharmonic. As yesterday, our entire coalition will join this rally. Of course, we will be there, and of course, every violent offender who acts this way will be held accountable each time. I also want to say to all the perpetrators and executors – individual figures, policemen, non-policemen, or so-called policemen – your names and surnames are identified, and you all will definitely be punished,” – stated Elene Khoshtaria.
To remind you: Yesterday, on Melikishvili Avenue, near Kakha Kaladze’s election headquarters, there was noise and confrontation. According to the protesters, representatives of the Georgian Dream youth wing physically assaulted them. During the physical confrontation, more than 10 protesters were injured, including media representatives.
