The Central Election Commission (CEC) calls on voters to verify their information in the unified voter list.
As stated by CEC spokesperson Natia Ioseliani during a briefing today, ensuring voters can exercise their electoral rights smoothly and fully is of utmost importance, and prior awareness plays a critical role in this process. To this end, the election administration urges voters to promptly verify their information and find out the location of their polling station.
According to Ioseliani, requests to make changes to the voter list can be submitted until September 16.
“On October 4, municipal elections will be held. Georgian citizens will elect 2,058 members of 64 municipal councils through both proportional and majoritarian systems, as well as 64 mayors. To ensure a smooth electoral process, a total of 3,051 polling stations will be opened across the country, with 2,284 using electronic voting and 767 using traditional methods.
The election administration offers several services for voters to verify their information in the unified voter list. This can be done through the website voters.cec.gov.ge, quick payment machines, or the mobile application.
To use the mobile application service, voters need to download the Voters Georgia – Cesko app, enter their personal ID number and surname in the relevant fields, and access their own and their family members’ information. Additionally, using the map feature, voters can view the address of their polling station and find out where to vote on October 4.
Notably, voters residing in regions densely populated by ethnic minorities can verify their information in the unified voter list on the CEC website in Azerbaijani and Armenian languages. This represents an important standard for ensuring equal opportunities.
We remind voters that internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Georgia’s occupied territories, whose registered address, according to their Georgian citizen ID or the State Services Development Agency’s database, is in the occupied territories, will be included in the unified voter list based on their actual place of residence.
As for Georgian citizens who have been deregistered from their place of residence or whose registration has been declared invalid by a decision of the State Services Development Agency, they will be included in the unified voter list based on their last registered address or their actual (temporary) place of residence.
Citizens who, according to the State Services Development Agency’s database, are registered without a specified address will be included in the unified voter list based on their actual (temporary) place of residence as recorded in the agency’s electronic database.
Additionally, individuals with a legal address or those registered without a specified address must contact the Public Service Hall (State Services Development Agency) to make changes. IDPs seeking to update their actual residential address should contact the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health, and Social Affairs.
We urge voters who have been deregistered, whose registration has been declared invalid, or who are registered without a specified address to promptly contact the State Services Development Agency by September 13 to verify their information and, if necessary, complete the relevant procedures to participate in the elections. Otherwise, voters will be included in the unified voter list based on their last registered address or actual (temporary) place of residence as recorded in the agency’s electronic database.
Voter awareness and active engagement are among the key conditions for ensuring transparent and fair elections. Timely verification of information in the unified voter list not only facilitates the exercise of individual electoral rights but also enhances the transparency of the election administration’s operations at a systemic level. Therefore, for this very purpose, the election administration calls for active participation and verification of information in the unified voter list. If you find inaccuracies in your or your family members’ information, contact the election administration or the State Services Development Agency to make the necessary changes. For additional information, contact the CEC’s contact hub at 2 51 00 51,” stated Natia Ioseliani.
