**Belgrade Passageway in Danger of Collapsing**
A central Belgrade passageway is at risk of having its ceiling collapse. The authorities have been warned about this problem for months, but they haven’t done anything to fix it.
The passageway, called Bezistan, is between two busy squares and thousands of people walk through it every day. Recently, a temporary metal fence was put up around the area where the ceiling could fall. But an official from the Urban Development Center says this isn’t enough.
Marko Bogdanovic from the Urban Development Center said that there are other problems like this in Belgrade. “A facade has fallen down and several others have been marked as a danger, but nothing is being done,” he said. He believes the city authorities should take care of these issues.
The metal fence in Bezistan isn’t a permanent solution, Bogdanovic said. He thinks the city can’t just ignore its problems and expects them to be fixed.
