The Election Administration is actively preparing for the October 4 municipal elections. Since 4th of September 3,051 polling stations are open and operational across the country.
As stated by Natia Ioseliani, Spokesperson for the Central Election Commission, during today’s briefing, members of precinct election commissions have already begun distributing voter cards and informational flyers.
“Voters can request changes to the voter list until September 16. To ensure a smooth and unhindered voting process, the election administration urges all voters to promptly verify their data and find out the location of their polling station.
The Election Administration provides several services to help voters verify their data in the Unified Voter List, including the website voters.cec.gov.ge, quick payment terminals, and a mobile application.
To use the mobile application service, download the Voters Georgia – Cesko app and enter your personal number and last name. The app allows you to view your own and your family members’ voter information, see the polling station address on a map, and find out where you should vote on October 4.
Voters living in regions densely populated with ethnic minorities can verify their data in the Unified Voter List on the CEC website (voters.cec.gov.ge) in Azerbaijani and Armenian. This is an important measure to ensure equal access and opportunities for all voters.
We remind voters that internally displaced persons from the occupied territories of Georgia, whose registered address – according to their Georgian ID card or the State Services Development Agency database – is in an occupied area, will be included in the Unified Voter List based on their actual place of residence.
A Georgian citizen whose residence registration has been removed or declared invalid by the State Services Development Agency will be included in the Unified Voter List based on their last registered address or their actual (temporary) place of residence.
Georgian citizens who are registered without a specified address in the State Services Development Agency database are included in the Unified Voter List based on their actual (temporary) place of residence as recorded in the Agency’s electronic system.
Individuals registered without a legal or specified address should apply to the House of Justice (State Services Development Agency) to update their information. Internally displaced persons should contact the Ministry of IDPs from the Occupied Territories of Georgia, Labor, Health and Social Protection to update their actual residential address.
We urge voters whose registration has been removed, declared invalid, or recorded without an address to contact the State Services Development Agency by September 13 to verify their information and complete any necessary procedures to participate in the elections. Otherwise, they will be included in the Unified Voter List based on their last registered address or actual (temporary) place of residence, as recorded in the Agency’s electronic database.
Voters are reminded that, to participate in the election, they must present an electronic ID card or passport. A valid non-electronic ID card may be used only in exceptional cases established by law, such as for health-related reasons).
Additionally, we would like to remind you of the procedure for requesting a mobile ballot box and accessing adapted or accessible polling stations.
Voters unable to visit the polling station due to health reasons must submit a request to the Precinct Election Commission to vote via a mobile ballot box by September 23. Voting by mobile ballot box will take place from 09:00 to 19:00, with ballots marked for those using this service.
Voters using wheelchairs are entitled to vote at any adapted polling station within the jurisdiction of the relevant District Election Commission. To request an adapted polling station, they must apply in writing or orally to the appropriate District or Precinct Election Commission by September 23. Updated information about adapted and accessible polling stations is available on the CEC website under the “Election Map” banner: https://ems-map.cec.gov.ge/
“The election administration once again urges voters to actively verify their information in the Unified Voter List. If you notice any inaccuracies in your or your family members’ data, please contact the election administration or the State Services Development Agency to update the records. For further assistance, please call the CEC Contact Hub at 2 51 00 51,” said Natia Ioseliani.
