**Russia to Halt Energy Strikes for 30 Days**
Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed to stop bombing Ukraine’s energy infrastructure for the next month. This was announced by the Kremlin after a phone call with US President Donald Trump.
According to the Kremlin, Mr. Trump suggested that Russia and Ukraine not attack each other’s energy facilities for 30 days. Mr. Putin accepted this idea and told his military leaders to follow it.
Russia has been attacking Ukraine’s energy targets since 2022. The attacks have become more frequent in recent months, with many nights seeing a swarm of Russian drones targeting Ukrainian cities.
**Ukraine Hits Back**
In the past week, Ukraine has had some success against Russia. Over 330 Ukrainian drones attacked Moscow on March 10. Since then, Ukraine’s military has hit targets related to Russia’s fossil fuel industry.
**Talks Between Leaders**
The Kremlin statement said that Mr. Putin and Mr. Trump also talked about ending the war in Ukraine. They agreed to start negotiating a deal to keep ships safe while traveling through the Black Sea.
However, Russia is demanding that Ukraine stop receiving foreign military aid and intelligence as a condition for avoiding further escalation of the conflict.
**Ukraine’s Military Efforts**
In addition, Russia wants Ukraine to stop preparing its military for war. This includes stopping the mobilization (recruitment) of soldiers and rearming them with new equipment.
