**Azerbaijan Airlines Plane Crashes in Kazakhstan**
On December 25, an Azerbaijan Airlines plane crashed in Aktau, Kazakhstan. The plane was traveling from Baku to Grozny when it went down.
**Russian Missile System May Have Been Involved**
Investigations suggest that the plane was hit by a Russian surface-to-air missile system. This is according to Lt-Gen. Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence Directorate. He said the plane was shot down over Russian territory before crashing in Kazakhstan.
**38 People Died in the Crash**
The crash resulted in 38 deaths and 29 hospitalizations. The damage to the plane’s tail and flight data indicate that it may have been hit by a Russian anti-aircraft missile. Russia has denied involvement in the crash.
