**Students Protest in Front of Serbian TV**
On Friday evening, students from both Belgrade’s universities gathered peacefully in front of the Serbian state TV (RTS) building. They wanted to show their dissatisfaction with the public broadcaster’s reporting.
The universities said they welcomed students and anyone else who wanted to join them at 6:30 pm. However, they also made it clear that they were not connected to any political parties or politics.
This was not the first time the students had protested in front of RTS. Last month, they held a similar gathering for the same reason. The universities said that RTS’s reporting on student protests had been very short and didn’t give people enough information.
In fact, last week RTS compared peaceful protesters to terrorists. This, the universities said, was unacceptable and created more divisions within society.
The students are fighting for a society where violence is not tolerated. They think RTS’s reporting has made things worse by spreading “media darkness”. The universities reminded everyone that RTS’s motto is “Your Right to Know Everything”, but they don’t seem to be living up to those words.
