**Belgrade Grammar Schools Forum Leaves Union**
The Forum of Belgrade Grammar Schools has left the Union of Education Workers of Serbia. The union had signed a collective agreement that the forum says goes against its members’ wishes.
A few days ago, Serbian Education Minister Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic and three education unions agreed on a special collective deal for elementary and high schools, and student dorms.
The forum’s leadership is unhappy with this decision. They said in a statement: “The union organization has no interest in protecting employees.”
The forum thinks the new agreement divides employees into those who are “acceptable” and those who are not. They don’t want to be part of a group that does this, so they’ve left the union.
The Association of Free and Independent Trade Unions (ASNS) agrees with the forum’s concerns. It says the new collective agreement is an example of lawlessness in Serbia.
