**Charity Workers Killed in Israeli Attacks**
A team of charity workers was killed in Israeli attacks in northern Gaza, according to the Al Khair Foundation. The UK-registered charity confirmed that eight people, including volunteers and independent reporters, were killed when their vehicles were targeted on Saturday.
The Israeli military said they had targeted “terrorists” who were operating a drone that posed a danger to Israeli troops. However, the charity denies this claim and says its team was in the area to set up tents and document the region.
**Eyewitness Accounts**
Qasim Rashed Ahmad, the founder of the Al Khair Foundation, told BBC that the team had been followed by a drone as they went to a second car. The drone then hit the cameramen who returned to the car.
The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate accused Israel of “systematic targeting” of Palestinian journalists who risked their lives to expose Israeli crimes and report the truth. Three journalists were killed in the attack, including video editor Bilal Abu Matear and cameramen Mahmoud al-Sarraj and Bilal Aqila.
**Ceasefire Uncertainty**
The incident occurred just as negotiations were underway to extend a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. The talks ended without agreement, with Washington accusing Hamas of making “completely impractical” requests.
The future of the ceasefire is uncertain, with a deadlock in the process. The Israeli military has launched massive offensives against Palestinian territories in response to Hamas’s attack on October 7th, resulting in thousands of deaths and injuries.
