EU Wants Georgia to Join, but Government is Getting in the Way
The European Union wants Georgian people to be a part of the EU. However, the government is making it hard for this to happen.
Badri Japaridze, leader of “Lelo – Strong Georgia,” made these comments. He said that the EU is focused on helping the Georgian people, not hurting them. The government should be blamed if Georgia does not join the EU.
Japaridze met with a former Lithuanian foreign minister. They talked about the situation in Georgia and Europe. They also discussed how the conflict in Ukraine affects things. Japaridze thinks the opposition should show the Georgian people’s will to join the EU. A big protest is planned for March 31.
EU Wants to Help Georgian People
Japaridze said that the EU wants to help the Georgian people, but the government is getting in the way. He believes the government is trying to distance Georgia from the EU so the people can’t fulfill their dream of joining the European family.
Simple Choice for Georgian People
Japaridze made it clear that there are only two options: preserve the state and join the EU or lose the state and return to the Russian Empire. He said the choice has already been made by the Georgian people, but they need to realize it and fight for their rights.
