The violent act has always been condemned by the European Parliament and its partners – I am a victim of the coup when I was a Member of Parliament in 1990-1992. I know what a disaster it is for the country, I have experienced it myself, – one of the leaders of Lelo-Strong Georgia, Badri Japaridze, told journalists, answering the question of how he would assess the statement of the representatives of the Georgian Dream that the West does not condemn violence.
According to him, everyone condemns violence, no matter who it comes from.
“Violence is condemnable, but the government did everything to have prisoners of conscience, people who want to protect the European future of their country. Of course, criticism is directed at this. Violent actions have always been condemned by the European Parliament and its partners. I myself am a victim of the coup, when I was a Member of Parliament in 1990-1992. Then an actual overthrow took place, some members are in power today. I know what a disaster it is for the country, I have experienced it myself. The change of government should only take place through elections, and every Georgian should believe that this is possible,” Japaridze noted.
At the same time, he responded to the rhetoric of the Georgian Dream that “some European states and politicians incited the peaceful overthrow.”
“This is Kobakhidze’s shameful rhetoric, who is not even greeted in the civilized world. Look, the Chancellor sat next to him and didn’t speak for two minutes. When you call democratically elected European governments European bureaucracy… it turns out that the German government, the French government, democratically elected people and representatives are bureaucracy,” Japaridze noted.
