**MPs Criticized for Attacking Ambassadors**
The leader of Strong Georgia, Badri Japaridze, has spoken out against the Speaker of Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili. Japaridze says that Papuashvili’s attacks on ambassadors from friendly countries prove that his goal is not to bring Georgia closer to Europe.
Japaridze stated that Papuashvili and other speakers like him have never spoken out against Russian leaders Lavrov and Putin, but instead attack the ambassadors of friendly states. This shows, according to Japaridze, that their real goal is to take Georgia away from the European path.
**What Did the Speaker Say?**
Papuashvili earlier said that the presence of ambassadors at court hearings was only to put pressure on judges and intimidate them. He claimed that this action disrespected Georgia’s sovereignty.
Japaridze disagreed with Papuashvili, saying that his statement proved the opposite: that the goal of Papuashvili and his supporters is to take Georgia away from Europe and towards Russia.
