Georgian Dream is Being Blamed for Isolating the Country
Badri Japaridze, a leader of Strong Georgia, spoke out against the Georgian Dream government. He said that they have isolated the country from the rest of the world.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe recently adopted a resolution. This resolution supported the struggle for justice and a European future in Georgia. It also called for new elections to be held soon, as well as the release of political prisoners.
The resolution was voted on by 134 deputies. Of those, 114 voted yes, 13 voted no, and 7 abstained from voting. Japaridze sees this resolution as a sign that the rest of the world supports the Georgian people’s fight for justice.
However, instead of taking note of the resolution, the Georgian Dream delegation announced that they would stop working with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. This decision was made by Tea Tsulukiani on behalf of Georgian Dream.
Tsulukiani said that some parts of the resolution were unfair and had no basis in fact. Despite this, Japaridze is concerned about how this will affect the country’s relationships with the rest of the world.
