**Azerbaijan Gives Ukraine $1 Million in Aid**
The government of Azerbaijan is sending $1 million worth of humanitarian aid to Ukraine. The help will be in the form of electrical equipment, which will support Ukraine’s energy grid.
This move comes from good relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine. They are working together as friends and partners. Azerbaijan has helped Ukraine before with similar aid after a cold winter last year.
The country’s Energy Ministry will get the money from President Ilham Aliyev’s reserve budget. This will allow them to send the aid directly to Kyiv, the capital city of Ukraine.
Azerbaijan has given Ukraine many shipments of humanitarian aid since Russia invaded in 2023. They have sent power transformers and reserve power stations. The president’s office said they want to help the Ukrainian people in this difficult time.
Recently, President Volodymyr Zelensky tried to get closer with Azerbaijan by offering to be a transit hub for their gas to Europe. This is because Russia stopped sending gas to Europe.
Azerbaijan has had good relations with Russia before but things have changed since a plane crash killed 38 people on December 25. The president of Azerbaijan accused Russia of causing the crash and said they should be held responsible.
