Ana Buchukuri, a member of the opposition party Gakharia for Georgia, has sounded the alarm about the country’s relationship with Europe. In an impassioned statement, she warned that if Georgia loses its visa-free travel arrangement with the European Union, it will be completely isolated from the rest of Europe.
“This is exactly what Russia wants,” Buchukuri said, implying that the current government’s actions are aligning perfectly with Russian interests. She criticized the ruling Georgian Dream party for trying to cover up their “treacherous policy” with “delusions and stupidity”.
Buchukuri emphasized that previous governments, despite their flaws, had managed to establish a connection between Georgia and Europe through various means. However, the current government’s actions are jeopardizing this progress and pushing the country towards isolation.

Buchukuri expressed her shame and disappointment at listening to Irakli Kobakhidze, the current Prime Minister, defend his party’s policies. “Irakli Kobakhidze may be a formal Prime Minister,” she said, “but I am simply ashamed to listen to him.”
