**Major Online Services Restored in Ukraine After Data Center Outage**
A major outage that affected many online services in Ukraine, including government platforms and banking operations, has been mostly restored by midday on April 26. The disruption was caused by a technical failure at a data center hosted by cloud provider De Novo.
According to Maksym Ahieiev, CEO of De Novo, the power failure occurred during routine maintenance when an unexpected malfunction in an automatic power switching system disabled access to backup batteries and diesel generators. This resulted in a 14-minute loss of power to the facility, leading to the outage.

Ahieiev emphasized that there were “no signs of hacking or external interference” and that the outage was due to a combination of technical factors. He stated that by 11 a.m., all public cloud users and colocated clients had been restored to service, with only minor network issues still being addressed.
**Services Affected**
Among the services disrupted on April 26 were:
* Diia, Ukraine’s mobile app for government services
* Banking operations at Oschadbank and Raiffeisen Bank
* Deliveries by Nova Post
* Contactless payment systems including Apple Pay and Google Pay
Although some minor issues are still being resolved, most clients have been restored to full operation, according to Ahieiev.
