Actor Bacho Kajaia spoke out against the government at a court hearing. His friend and fellow actress, Ana Tkebuchava, was also in court.
Kajaia and Tkebuchava are charged with blocking a street on January 9. The judge will decide their fate on February 18.
Kajaia said that the government is making changes to the law because they are afraid of the people. He believes that the people have the right to peacefully protest, as stated in the Constitution.
