The family of the minor allegedly assaulted by Khatia Vibliani is requesting imprisonment as a preventive measure for the accused arm wrestler.
As stated in the family’s released statement, Khatia Vibliani lives near the minor’s residence, making it unsafe for him.
“As you know, charges have been filed against Khatia Vibliani. The family requests that imprisonment be used as a preventive measure for Khatia Vibliani, not bail, because we do not feel safe – the perpetrator lives very close by, and she could encounter the child at any time. The entire society is also at risk; no one knows who else this lady might target and mercilessly beat. It is astonishing that the reason for not detaining her could be her guardianship of her young child. Just as she psychologically abused the minor, she made her crying child watch it that evening. Also, a woman who has been deprived of motherhood for her first child – do you think she is raising the second in normal conditions? Now she claims she didn’t know he was a minor. Yet, she must have realized she was dealing with a minor when she addressed him: ‘You little bastard, I’ll teach you a lesson,’ and the footage clearly shows who attacked whom, confirmed by witnesses in the store,” the statement reads.
For reference, Khatia Vibliani, the arm wrestler accused of violence against a minor, was granted a 3,000 GEL bail as a preventive measure. The Prosecutor’s Office charged Khatia Vibliani with violence against a minor with prior notice. According to the investigation, on September 11 of this year, in Tbilisi, at a store, the accused Vibliani physically assaulted a minor and then continued the physical violence outside the store.
